1923 – 1998

Jack M. Digman, Ph.D., our mentor and friend, meticulously gathered the original childhood data for this study during 1959 -1967. Jack was a professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Hawai’i before retiring and moving to Oregon to continue his love for research at the Oregon Research Institute. In 1997 at the age of 73, he was awarded a grant by the National Institutes of Health to begin the follow-up study in which we are all now engaged. We hope that our work will in a small way honor Jack’s great contribution to science.
